HOW TO

APPLY YOUR DECAL

Follow these steps for a clean, bubble-free install of your CUSTOM32 vinyl decal. Work in a shaded area between 10°C and 32°C (50°F–90°F) on a smooth, non-porous surface.

1. Prepare the surface

Wash the area with mild soap and water, then dry completely. Wipe with isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher) to remove wax, grease, and fingerprints.

Do not apply over fresh paint, rust, textured trim, or rubber seals unless the manufacturer recommends vinyl adhesion on that material.

2. Plan placement

Hold the decal in place with masking tape and step back to check alignment, spacing, and level.

Mark light reference points with a wax pencil if needed — avoid permanent markers on paint or glass.

3. Peel and position

Flip the decal and peel the backing paper away from the transfer tape, keeping the vinyl on the tape.

Line up the decal with your marks and lightly tack one edge before pressing the rest into place.

4. Squeegee from center out

Using a squeegee or credit card wrapped in a soft cloth, press from the center outward to push air and moisture out.

Work in overlapping strokes. Re-squeegee edges and corners — most failures start at an unbonded edge.

5. Remove transfer tape

Wait a few minutes, then peel the transfer tape back at a low angle (180° close to the surface).

If vinyl lifts with the tape, lay it back down, squeegee again, and wait longer before retrying.

6. Finish and cure

Inspect edges and pinholes. Press down any lifted areas with the squeegee.

Avoid car washes, pressure washers, and heavy rain for at least 72 hours so the adhesive can set.

Tips

  • Install indoors or in shade — heat makes transfer tape stickier and harder to reposition.

  • For large graphics, use the hinge method: tape the top edge, flip up, remove backing, then roll down while squeegeeing.
